I have provided a short and long version here of my management consultant biography – depending on what you need.
Kim Tasso BA(Hons) DipM FCIM MCIJ MBPsS MBA is the managing director of RedStarKim Ltd. She is an independent management consultant, specialising in the professional services sector, with over 30 years’ marketing experience.
After qualifying as a psychologist and working for several years in the technology sector she worked for a number of leading professional service firms (Deloitte and Nabarro) before starting her firm in January 1994. She has worked for over 300 clients including: law firms, barristers chambers, patent attorneys, accountancy practices, insolvency practitioners, actuaries, surveyors, marketing services agencies and management consultants.
She advises on and provides training and coaching in the strategic and operational aspects of management, change, marketing, selling and client relationship management. She has published a number of books (on selling, media relations and growth strategies) and hundreds of articles.

Qualifications and affiliations: She is qualified in psychology (British Psychological Society recognised and an accredited psychological assessment tester), has a management of business administration (MBA) masters degree, a post graduate diploma in marketing, a diploma in professional coach/mentoring and is a qualified NLP practitioner. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and a registered marketer and consultant. She is a member of the PM Forum. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Journalists (CIoJ) and the Institute of Directors (IoD).
Technology sector: Kim started her career in sales and marketing positions in the technology sector working with Comshare Inc, Honeywell (now Groupe Bull) and Logica where she is reluctant to admit that she learned to code in Fortran and Cobol and fell in love with fourth generation languages and relational database technology.
In-house business development and strategic consultancy: She then worked in-house in senior marketing and business development roles at Deloitte management consultants and Nabarro solicitors before establishing her own firm in January 1994. She provides consultancy advice (including acting as a locum Business Development Director) as well as training and coach-mentoring services. She was a Non Executive Director of E A Shaw which was recently acquired by CBRE.
Professional services clients: She has since worked for over 300 clients including: law firms, barristers chambers, patent and trade mark attorneys, accountancy practices, insolvency practitioners, actuaries, surveyors, agents and property professionals, forensic scientists, educational establishments, psychologists, marketing services agencies, management consultants, financial services companies, national associations and publishers.
Writing and publications: She writes articles as a freelance journalist for a number of legal, marketing and property magazines and a leading London portal for whom she reviews restaurants and children’s entertainment. Her first book Dynamic practice development – Selling skills and techniques for the professions was published in 2000 and reprinted in 2003. Media relations in property, which she co-wrote with leading residential property journalist Graham Norwood, was published in 2006. Growing your property partnership – Plans, promotion and people was published in June 2009. Earlier in 2014 she published “Rainmakers and trailblazers – a step by step guide to business development for lawyers”. She writes a number of blogs (including for leading London portal www.allinlondon.co.uk and is a committed tweeter on Twitter (@RedStarKim).
Lecturing and training: She is a part-time lecturer on post graduate marketing courses for the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Cambridge Marketing College. She provides a number of training courses and webinars for Central Law Training (CLT) and designs and develops a programme of training courses for marketing professionals for PM Forum. IN 2013, she assisted with the development of a management studies programme for Masters students in maths, computing and technology.
Personal: Kim is a single mum, a social media enthusiast and, now that injuries prevent her pursuing her martial arts interests, is a regular visitor to her local gym and is a yoga, Zumba and Pilates fan. She has a passion for deep sea fishing. Living in Twickenham, she regularly attends international rugby matches. A remaining ambition is to publish a novel.
