Panel pitch casualty

by Kim Tasso 2 January 2013 19:08

In the pitching course I deliver for Professional Marketing Forum http://www.pmforum.co.uk/training/index.aspx  – “Helping fee earners prepare the perfect pitch” (next presentations are on 7th February and 6th November 2013) and in the training I do for firms in-house, I provide a pack of information on major pitches and panel reviews as they have been reported in the media.

Here’s another example to add to the pack:

Bircham Dyson Bell left the National Farmer Union’s (NFU) external legal panel by mutual consent as 15 firms won places on the reviewed roster of advisers (August 2012). It was the only one of the 16 panel firms to exist following an “intensive” two month review. The roster will be reviewed again in three years. Firms had to complete a questionnaire and were judged on feedback from various NFU offices on their previous performance.

The panel was launched in 2008 and demands a discount of 12.5% on firms’ hourly rates with packages allowing firms to advise NFU members. Two firms were appointed from each region of England and Wales, except in the South East which now has only one. Another will be sourced.
